Description
A full-day seminar for professionals who work with sex offenders and victims of sexual abuse: Mental Health Professionals, Licensed Clinical Social Workers, Child Protective Services Investigators, Probation and Parole Officers, Law Enforcement Officers, and other professionals concerned with the welfare of children.

Based on a comprehensive analysis of her own research and a detailed review of the work of other researchers, Julia Hislop, Ph.D. will discuss what is known about female sex offenders: identification of abusers, estimates of the number of abusers and their victims, the methods of abuse, the types of trauma seen among their victims, and what is known about the developmental histories of female sex offenders. Dr. Hislop will also provide therapists with directions for treatment and prioritized treatment goals.
The six-hour seminar will cover the latest in female sex offender research and discuss how the professionals who work with female sex offenders can apply this information, including:

Julia Hislop, Ph.D.
Dr. Julia Hislop has worked with physically and sexually abused children and adults, as
well as child abusers and sex offenders, in a variety of settings. Her previous books
include Female Sex Abusers: Three Views and Coping with Rejection. She received her Ph.D.
from the California School of Professional Psychology and currently works as a
psychologist for Clinical Associates of Tidewater in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
